RWRUNSTREAK Day 29/30/31 – Running on Dunkin’

Day 29
Was going to go out for only two but the weather was nice. Four miles out and back on wet (but mostly clear) pavement in very light snow
Day 30
We shopped like fools in the morning and spent the rest of the day getting ready to hit the road for an overnight drive. Since I’ve put in a string of good runs, I took this as a “rest day.”

The only Detroit Lions (themed) shirt I have ever owned.
I started the treadmill out at 5.5mph and ended up at 8mph, so while this isn’t really a fast mile, I was cooking at the end. Felt good.
I am missing the Team /var/run Friday lunches at Rodeo. Chipotle just isn’t the same (and quite honestly, not as good).
Day 31
We drove all night for a total of about 13 hours. This run was fueled by too many donuts from Dunkin’ Donuts – we don’t have these up north so I might go a little nuts every time we are at one – and only a few hours of sleep.

Larry says hi.
Only ran through a few patches of snow and muddiness but was otherwise clear and only wet pavement. Decided to go for the flows, which might be a little muddy (and not indoor oval shoes anymore) but it felt great to not run in the Cascadias outside (and to ditch the warmer coat for the Flyer jacket).
I wasn’t that person out running in shorts in December, but I could have been if I’d wanted to be.
I’ll enjoy a few more warmer days in Detroit before it gets cold again in a few days, and by “cold” I mean in the teens or 20s. Also dragging Scott out with me the rest of this week (he got a mulligan since we drove all night and he was exhausted), so I’ll try not to hurt him. Too much.
We’re also ticking items off a Detroit Food Bucket List, so running will be essential, not only for the runstreak, but so that I can still zip my pants by the end of the week.
