RWRUNSTREAK Day 14/15 – Double date with the oval

Day 14
RC Josh and I ran inside at the Student Development Complex (SDC). It was nice to wear shorts and not have icicles hanging from my face when we were finished.
I’m already having a hard time remembering what we did, so I’m going to say we just ran three miles at a comfortable pace. I don’t know why the second mile shows such a long elapsed time. Did we stop? Did Josh go into cardiac arrest? Did I black out?
Day 15
Since the weather outside is godforsaken frightful, today was another indoor day.
Running around the multi-purpose room isn’t the most exciting time, so we mixed it up with some interval-like thingies.
The track in the SDC is supposedly 200m. Nancy and I did a foot pod calibration for the first four laps. I am not sure why this shows 6:16 because it was more like 4:57 but who’s counting. Apparently, I am. But eh.
Josh made us run intervals, which we managed to do for a little while successfully crossing over the puke threshold. I was pretty happy with my fast laps (not really sure what’s going on with the differences in distance for the slow ones, though I kept forgetting to hit the lap button on those). I’m also pretty pleased with lap 11, which was 400m at what I was guessing was a 10K pace (or what I’d like to be), totally running on feel. Um, I’d be totally happy with an 8:03 avg pace for 10K.
We followed up the run with some stretching and a quick ab workout. Nancy wins at abs.
While the track isn’t my running environment of choice, I’m softening up toward it. The distance is measurable, the surface is soft, and your face doesn’t freeze off.
