Rest before the final push

Today was supposed to be a cross training day. I had hoped to get on my bike for a short spin, but the house desperately needed my attention. I couldn’t start the week off living in filth. So after church (we were on cookie duty) that’s what we did. Cleaned. Mopped. Did dishes. I am pretty certain my other partner wasn’t having the time of his life, but between the two of us, we got it done. At least we got it livable.
I had to run out to the store after we got to church and realize we’d forgotten crackers to go with the cheese and sausage (okay, so cookie duty is more like light brunch duty). While at the store I couldn’t pass up an egg salad sandwich. When I worked at the nearby university, I would regularly grab one of these for lunch.
I don’t have a photo of the rest of the day’s food fail, but it included sausage, pepper jack cheese, carrot cake, leftover stroganoff, egg noodles, and a small piece of blueberry pie. So much for clean eating today.
Tomorrow starts a stepback week, and my legs need it. It’s my last week at home before going back to the office for regular hours. I’m looking forward to getting some time away from the kid during the day, but not so much looking forward to the work part. However, a new project should keep me busy and engaged (and financially afloat).
Less than two months to the marathon!
I’d like to point out that $2.49 for that sandwich is absolutely amazing.
Life in the boonies!
