So long, Detroit

It’s been real.

Hot. It’s been real hot.

Thanks for cooling off a tad on my last morning run. It didn’t result in it being a super great run; I almost turned around after starting because my stomach felt awful, but I knew I’d regret it if I did.

Dammit anyway, Lance. But thanks.

I’m looking forward to getting back home to run on less populated roads where I don’t feel every asshole in an Audi is trying to run me off the road. It will be nice to get back to less humidity and lower temperatures.

But what I’ll miss? Having my mom man the baby monitor duty every morning at 6:00 am while I sneak out the door. It’s somehow easier to get motivated to hit the road when you know someone’s taking care of your kid. Yeah, I have that at home, but for some reason it’s harder to get going in the morning.

My next run will be on Friday morning in the good ole UP.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
