I almost forgot this is a blog about running! I don’t even want to tell you how many miles I have not logged in February.
This has been one of our coldest winters on record, and the snow? I’ve stopped keeping track.
The snow is manageable (though we’re running out of room in our yard) but the windchill has been pretty brutal. Instead of being miserable outside running, I’ve stayed indoors and ridden my bike on the trainer. But I’m running out of good television to watch on Hulu.
The Team Var Run Training Plan of Doom (TPoD) was supposed to start this past Monday. So far, I’ve logged zero running miles, though I’ve kept up with the strength training suggestions and have ridden my bike for what I hope is an equivalent workout. But the lack of running makes me nervous that I’m losing fitness. Then again, the mental break of running has been good for me. I also can barely walk thanks to the Jillian Michaels workout I did on Monday. Clearly I need more squats and ab work in my routine. Duly noted.
But seriously, winter. Cut it out already. I’m ready to get back into a rhythm and ready for Green Bay.
