Getting there

My first 5K at a sub-11:00/mi pace. So sad, but feels pretty good.

Does it feel easier? It’s hard to say. The first mile is still awful. Now that I know I can make it for three miles without stopping, it is tough to keep going and not stop to walk after two, even though I want to.

My goal is to run another 5K tomorrow morning, maybe another one on Friday, and try for a slow 6 miles (or 60 min duration) run on Saturday.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
