Happy 4th

Note to self: running before 9am is preferable, because by then it’s just too damn hot and makes a miserable outing even more so.

I stopped and walked for a few minutes. A car full of older women stopped me after the second mile to ask if I knew of any restaurants open that served breakfast. Those options are slim up here on a normal day, let alone a national holiday.

I think the only reason I finished under 36 minutes is because for the last .75 miles I tried to keep up with another jogger and refused to walk. I suppose I shouldn’t be too unhappy with sub-12s, even with the walking. At this point, anyway.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
