Running makes me feel human again

A slow 5 mi in 52:18 but happy with the run; I purposely went out slow and felt pretty good the entire way.

I’ve had a rough few days and just haven’t felt myself. The kid was testing every last nerve and even though my head felt like it was going to literally explode, I went out for a run.

I know why I do this, when my couch potato friends think I’m crazy for signing up for marathons and spending my weekends planning around 18 mile long runs. Sometimes it’s tough to get out the door, but this would never be a problem if I could remember how good I feel when I’m done.

Running is what keeps me going. It makes me feel alive. I will always be a runner.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
