Better late than never

I chose sleep over an early long run this morning. My back felt better, but I figured extra time during the day wouldn’t hurt.
The only thing that sucks about putting your runs off until later is that it leaves you all day to think about them. Fester, fester, fester.
I finally got out around 7:00pm. It was good to get out on the road. My legs felt pretty fresh (probably from three days off, ugh), but I tried not to push it too fast and took gatorade breaks every 20 minutes.
What’s kind of stupid is that I thought I did much better than this, but when I figure in the walking breaks, I guess this is probably about right. I’m still doubtful I can do this twice in a row on race day, but it would be great if I could. It would beat my PR for a marathon (4:45 in 2004). I’ve kind of set this movable goal out there of less than 5 hours, but less than 4:45? I’d be in heaven.
It’s late, I’m hungry, but terribly unmotivated to cook anything. Pizza sounds wonderful, but I highly doubt I can talk my partner into it (he’s sleeping on the couch).
