And on Monday there was rest. And pie.

In order to get back on my normal running schedule, I decided to make today a rest day and resume regular training tomorrow. I think it’s a raw deal that I have to adjust my schedule, but I could probably use a day off. My left knee was not pleased with me yesterday on the long run.
I was starving this morning but wanted to try and limit the carbs, knowing I’d be going out for two meals later.
Cabbage and carrots with a piece of grilled chicken. Not exactly traditional breakfast fare.
I’ve unfortunately developed a new addiction, er, taste, for iced coffee.
There’s no way I can afford a Starbucks a day habit (can’t get to one at home conveniently anyway), so I Googled for cold-pressed coffee and found that once again, Deb hasn’t let me down.
It will be ready tomorrow, so I’ll report on it then. I’m wondering if I can brew it in my French press at home. If not, I’ll just steal this mug from my mom. š
We had lunch with my aunt at Old Mexico, one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Livonia. In my opinion, they’ve got the best Mexican food outside of Mexicantown in Downtown Detroit.
I was a little too enthusiastic when the food came to take a picture of my $5 lunch special (yes, it’s cheap! And I am pretty certain prices haven’t gone up in ten years) but took a photo of what I left behind. I think I deserve a pat on the back, since I know I could have inhaled the entire plate.
I scraped most of the cheese off the top of the cheese enchilada and ate the beef taco. Ate about a half cup of rice. My aunt ate a chunk of the extra cheese. I was full when we left but not sick (which is usually how I feel after leaving this place). That’s got to be progress, right?
Tonight is another dinner at Grand Traverse Pie Co (yum, pie). I think I’m saving all of my remaining calories for pie. š
