Running – 08.07.10

August 7, 2010 by Amy B

Distance: 15.03 mi
Duration: 2:57:42 (boo)
Pace: 12:17 min/mi

Everything about this run was terrible. I left too late. My body felt like it had forgotten how to move properly from the moment I walked out the door to the time I finished. Well, I did have a short period of some sort of rhythm at about 3 miles in, but then I promptly got lost, got off the trail, and just got thrown off my game. Eventually found the trail after a nice uphill on a sandy path (UGH) and by then, I was toast. I did allow myself to walk today and not beat myself up for it. I even stopped and took a few photos with my camera on my iPhone. The last five miles were some of the hardest I’ve ever made myself finish.

12:17 is definitely slower than I want to run on these runs, but today just wasn’t my day. I’ll have next weekend to make up for it (16 miles). God, help me.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
