Running – 07.20.10

July 20, 2010 by Amy B

Distance: 3.00 mi
Duration: 28:29
Pace: 9:28 min/mi
Splits:
1. 9:22
2. 9:36
3. 9:31

Decided to push myself this morning after a weekend of eating a bunch of junk – pasta, blueberry pie (three days in a row, ugh), and peach cobbler (because you can’t let those good peaches go bad).

This is a pace I can keep up for a 5K, but it’s work. I also didn’t feel like I was in a good rhythm this morning. I actually felt like I was running slower than I was. Running is weird that way. I just kept an eye on my heart rate and told my body to keep moving. Twenty eight minutes is not a long time to push yourself, especially when I have a job that doesn’t require me to be very active.

I will try to keep my shorter runs faster. Otherwise, how will my body ever learn to run faster on the long runs? I really want to break 5 hours this year at the marathon. It’s totally doable. I just need to keep at the training.

Runner, Eater, Mother, Tweeter

Amy, July 2013

I'm a thirty-something suburbanite turned ruralite living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Wife, mom of two, eater of all things delicious, and a runner. This is where I blather on about running and health. Baby Number Three will be here in November (so yes, I'm a little crazy), and I'm running through my pregnancy for as long as my body's willing and able. There's also more of me at amyupnorth.com.
