Running – 07.10.10

Distance: 6.55 mi
Duration: 1:10:20 (or in that vicinity)
Pace: 10:55 min/mi
I feel like I need to defend myself here regarding my slow time (why do we always feel we need to do that?). The first mile on this particular route is always slow for me. It’s a combination of snowmobile trail and backroad, often covered in standing water and debris. It was my slowest mile of the day. I also had to stop twice to adjust clothing.
I planned on this being a slow run. I was tired. It was hot. I was still feeling some of the residual unmotivation I had struggled with the night before. You know the feeling: everything sucks, you feel like you want to eat everything in sight. Well, at least for me that’s the feeling. My evening had ended when I decided I should stop stuffing cherry crumble into my mouth (eating directly from the pan) and just go to bed.
This run was supposed to be seven miles, but some mixups regarding the map, my GPS app and me just not being able to do the math made it short. I won’t sweat it. I’m glad I out the time in and got on the road. Not a stellar run, but I’ll have plenty more to make up for it.
